This portrait session was an adventure to say the least. Aubrey and I braved freezing temperatures and 15mph winds for a quick all-film test shoot at Rocky Butte in Portland. I’ve been challenging myself to shoot film for fun more since I never had the opportunity to growing up, so the digital stayed at home for this shoot. And I must say, I do believe I’m falling in love. The slow process of film does try my patience a bit since I am always so eager to see the final result. But, let me tell you, it’s 100% worth it. I love shooting a roll, sending it off to be developed, and getting excited when I see the scans hit my inbox. The best part? Less computer time since I don’t need to sit and edit afterwards. All this to say, 2017 will be seeing a lot more film.

These images were developed and scanned by PhotoVision Prints in Salem, OR and shot on Portra 400 film using a Canon EOS-3.
